On Friday evening, June 10, one person died following a two vehicle collision in Memphis, Tennessee.
According to police the accident happened at Walnut Grove Road and Farm Road at around 9.30 p.m. William Hays, aged 28 was driving in a Jeep Wrangler west on Walnut Grove when for reasons unknown he went through the grass median and hit a traffic sign. His car then span, traveled back through the median into the eastbound lanes, and hit another second vehicle. Following that collision the Jeep flipped and both Hays and his passenger were ejected. Hays was pinned under the Jeep and died but the passenger was uninjured.
The driver of the second vehicle was injured but not critically and was taken to Baptist East Hospital.
Police are still investigating the cause of the crash and specifically what caused Hays to lose control of the Jeep.
