How to Perform a Three-Point Turn

Being able to perform a three-point turn is a great skill to have and with a little practice you will be able to perform this maneuver quickly and safely.

You should never perform a three-point turn on a busy road it is safer to find a driveway or parking lot in which to turn around in. Check for cars behind and in front of you as this maneuver will take a minute or two to complete, when it is safe pull over and stop as close to the curb as possible. Check again for traffic, activate your left turn signal and turn the steering wheel all the way to the left while slowly accelerating until you are near the edge of the opposite lane. This is the first point of your three-point turn.

Put your vehicle in reverse, check for traffic again. Activate your right turn signal and turn your steering wheel to the right while reversing your vehicle slowly towards the edge of the road that you originally started in. This is the second point of your three-point turn. Change to forward gear, activate your left signal again, steer left and slowly begin driving in your new direction. This is the third point and final maneuver in your three-point turn
